A T-shirt may be suitable, but it is often too light and not fitted enough. We recommend a tank top or a bodysuit for a "second skin" effect that will keep you warm under your sweater.
The classic wool comes from different breeds of sheep and is appreciated for its warmth, although it can sometimes be rough and irritating. Merino wool, sourced from Merino sheep, is much softer, lighter, and more breathable, while providing excellent insulation. It is more resistant to odors and is more comfortable to wear directly against the skin. That's why we exclusively use Merino wool at Les Tricots Marcel.
A wool sweater doesn't need to be washed frequently. Generally, it is sufficient to wash it after 5 to 7 uses, or when it is really necessary. Notably, merino wool is a naturally odor-resistant fiber and it regenerates well in the open air. Airing out your sweater between uses can prolong the time between washes. Our sweaters are machine washable.
