The Marcel Tank Tops are back in the Loire!

Les Tricots Marcel reconnects with tradition by offering an emblematic product of the city, at once local, ethical, supportive and responsible.

In Marseille, there is soap. In Roanne, there is the Marcel! This comparison may well be legitimate in the future. Indeed, with Les Tricots Marcel, Thomas Sardi has chosen to take on a challenge worthy of this ambition:“Apart from the Pima cotton yarn, purchased in Greece, everything is produced locally within a radius of five kilometers barely. The Marcels are knitted by the MCF company in Riorges. Fabric dyeing is carried out by the TAD company in Le Coteau. Finally, the cutting and making are carried out by ITHAC in Riorges, an adapted company which employs workers with disabilities. It’s a desire on our part but also one of the most beautiful workshops in the region, specializing in the type of items we offer. » Thus, Les Tricots Marcel aims to be ethical and supportive, spearheading the textile movement made in France, or even made in Roanne!

After living in Indonesia and returning to Roanne, Thomas Sardi created this structure to develop an artisanal and local project. The Marcel tank top, originally from Roanne, then came to him as an obvious choice. The idea was to create a garment steeped in history, where it was born, and to make it a high-quality item: “Our range now offers around fifteen colors. Le Marcel is mixed and suitable for children. We have also designed complementary products, also manufactured in Roanne, such as undershirts, sweatshirts and shirts. The important thing is to always make locally with a small environmental footprint and ultimately to promote Roanne throughout France, and why not, the world! »
