The Marcel Tank Tops are back in the Loire!
Les Tricots Marcel reconnects with tradition by offering an iconic product from the city, both local, ethical, supportive, and responsible.
In Marseille, there is soap. In Roanne, there is the Marcel! This comparison may well be legitimate in the future. Indeed, with Les Tricots Marcel, Thomas Sardi has chosen to take on a challenge that matches this ambition: "Except for the Pima cotton thread, purchased in Greece, everything is produced locally within a radius of barely five kilometers. The Marcels are knitted by the company MCF in Riorges. The dyeing of the fabrics is handled by TAD in Le Coteau. Finally, the cutting and sewing are done by ITHAC in Riorges, an adapted company employing workers with disabilities. This is our intent, but also one of the finest workshops in the region, specialized in the type of items we offer." Thus, Les Tricots Marcel aims to be ethical and supportive, spearheading the made in France textile movement, or even made in Roanne!
After living in Indonesia and returning to Roanne, Thomas Sardi created this structure to develop an artisanal and local project. The Marcel tank top, originally from Roanne, came to him as an obvious choice. The idea was to create a garment rich in history, where it was born, and make it a high-quality item: "Our range currently offers about fifteen colors. The Marcel is unisex and suitable for children. We have also designed complementary products, also made in Roanne, such as bodysuits, sweatshirts, and shirts. The important thing is to always manufacture locally with a low environmental footprint and ultimately to make Roanne shine throughout France, and why not, the world!"
